Dragon’s Bane Stats and Passive

A fully ascended and levelled Dragon’s Bane has a base ATK of 454 and an Elemental Mastery substat of 221.

The polearm also gives a DMG increase of 20% when used against enemies that are affected by Hydro or Pyro.

Who Can Use Dragon’s Bane?

Compared to other 4-star polearms, Dragon’s Bane doesn’t have the highest base ATK, reaching only 454 at level 90. However, that doesn’t make it a bad weapon. Due to its EM substat, Dragon’s Bane can beneficial for characters who depend on elemental reactions.

Xiangling

Xiangling is a character that benefits from having a good amount of Elemental Mastery. Moreover, being a Pyro vision holder, she can easily apply the element on enemies with a simple click of her elemental skill. While Guoba is on the field, triggering the DMG increase provided by the weapon passive is constant. This only gets better when she’s paired with a character like Xingqiu whose elemental burst is good for Hydro application.

Hu Tao

While it is true that the best weapon for Hu Tao is the Staff of Homa, obtaining a 5-star weapon from a limited time banner isn’t an easy thing to do. Especially if you don’t have the money to spend. This is why Dragon’s Bane is a good alternative. By pairing her with characters like Xingqiu and Chongyun, not only will players be able to trigger the DMG increase but the EM substat will also increase the DMG of the elemental reactions.

The Cons of the Dragon’s Bane

As stated above, unlike other 4-star polearms, Dragon’s Bane has a comparatively lower base ATK. Since the damage increase only comes when fighting enemies that are affected by Pyro or Hydro, you have to ensure that you have members in the party that can constantly apply elements. Also, the EM substat doesn’t work for every polearm user. Especially Geo characters since they have absolutely no use for elemental mastery.

When used with the right characters, this weapon can really shine.
