If you already master the art of diving and underwater combat, it’s time to challenge 8 Fontaine Legends and get lots of hidden achievements and treasure chests. Two enemies are on land while the remaining ones reside underwater so you need to be careful when encountering them.

All Fontaine Legend Locations

There are 8 Fontaine Legends in version 4.0, with 2 of them on the surface (indicated by red stars) while the remaining 8 are underwater (indicated by blue stars).
Rewards (All Precious Chests) | Achievements |
---|---|
Primogem x60 | Vivianne of the Lake Swords of the Gorge Ninianne of the Lake Dobharcu, Lord of the Hidden Ocean Circuit Judge The Fairy Knight Twins The White Path Between Two Rivers Fading Veteran Iron Viscount |
Vivianne of the Lake

➥ Teleport to Echoes of the Deep Tides Domain (Weapon Mats) north of Court of Fontaine and head northeast until you see Tainted Water-Spouting Phantasm.

➥ This enemy has a huge HP pool and is immune to Hydro so be careful if you bring this element to the team. On the bright side, Vivianne is constantly afflicted with Hydro so you can trigger elemental reactions easily.

➥ Be careful of its attacks and use Dash to I-frame through its attack so you won’t take any damage. Some attacks can even deal 10k damage (my Nahida with 10k HP left is unalived just like that) so definitely bring a healer/shielder that can consistently heal/create a shield to your team. This enemy gives Vivianne of the Lake achievement.
Swords of the Gorge

➥ Teleport to Thalatta Submarine Canyon underwater waypoint and swim west until you see 2 Hunter’s Ray.

➥ It has really high ATK while your ATK is really low. Just like on the surface, you can Dash forward/sideways to avoid taking damage, so be careful with your Aquatic Stamina. Position yourself so you can see both of the Hunter’s Rays at the same time. In fact, be in a position where those 2 are lined up so that when you use your Water Blade skill, it can hit both Hunter’s Rays at the same time.

➥ The most important thing here is to attack the glowing orb when the 2 Hunter’s Rays are connected to do synchronized attacks. This will stop them from unleashing the attack and deal huge damage to both of them. This enemy gives Swords of the Gorge achievement once you defeated them.
Ninianne of the Lake

➥ Teleport to Elynas northwest waypoint and head further north to the shore to find the Tainted Water-Splitting Phantasm. Similar to Vivianne, it has really huge damage and is immune to Hydro (but not to the explosion of Dendro Core that’s why I use Nilou Bloom team).

➥ It’s better to bring reaction teams like Vaporize to get that 1.5x/2x damage (depending on what trigger the reaction, either Hydro or Pyro). This enemy gives Ninianne of the Lake achievement.
Dobharcu, Lord of the Hidden

➥ From Ninianne’s location, head northeast to the sea and keep swimming there until you see a huge purple Blubberbeast.

➥ This enemy can turn invisible and release lots of soundwaves in many directions. You don’t want to use your attack aimlessly because you will take damage from its many soundwaves and die faster. Remember that if you manage to hit it while it’s invisible, it will take lots more damage compared to when it’s visible.

➥ The key here is to pay attention to the red arrow that is showing the location of the Blubberbeast. Then, look at the location of the last soundwaves that appear and squint to see the shadow of the invisible Blubberbeast (it’s hard to spot, but you can see it if you look hard enough). Sacrifice some of your health to stop avoiding its soundwave and counterattack it. This enemy gives Dobharcu, Lord of the Hidden achievement.
Ocean Circuit Judge

➥ Teleport to Elynas northeast waypoint and dive into the water and swim to the northeast until you see the giant crab.

➥ This enemy isn’t that hard to defeat and has decent HP and ATK so it’s not overpowered. The key to winning here is to hold your E until it throws a fish/spin at you, then release the E to unleash a powerful shockwave. This is much stronger than if you just hold E and released but didn’t take any damage. In other words, this ability is like Parry’s. If you parry its attack, your damage will be much higher. There are times when it creates a shield, but just ignores it and keeps doing the same thing until the shield is down. This enemy gives Ocean Circuit Judge achievement.
The Fairy Knight Twins

➥ Teleport to Pale Forgotten Glory Domain (Talent Mats) north of West Slopes of Mont Automnequi and swim northeast. You will find 2 Hunter’s Rays.

➥ They are the same as the Swords of the Gorge so I’ll just repeat the tips from before. It has a really high ATK while your ATK is really low.

This enemy gives The Fairy Knight Twins achievement once you defeated them.

➥ But before defeating them, make one of your characters take so much damage that they die to get another hidden achievement The White Path Between Two Rivers. I assume you can also get this achievement if your character died when fighting Cortana and Murgleis (the other 2 Hunter’s Rays).
Fading Veteran

➥ Teleport to Elton Trench south underwater waypoint and dive deeper until you see a lot of shipwrecks and a few Blubberbeast sleeping on the huge leaf. Ignore those small Blubberbeast and head straight to the purple one swimming in the middle.

➥ This enemy is similar to Dobharcu so I’ll just repeat what I said before. It can turn invisible and release lots of soundwaves in many directions.

This enemy gives Fading Veteran achievement.
Iron Viscount

➥ Teleport to the Statue of the Seven in Beryl Region and head to the boiling lake to enter the bubble teleport. This teleport will bring you underwater and you can keep following the path to meet Iron Viscount. If you didn’t complete the puzzle yet, you can check out my guide here: Boiling Lake Puzzle in Beryl Region.

➥ This enemy is similar to Ocean Circuit Judge so I’ll just repeat what I said above. The key to winning here is to hold your E until it throws a fish/spin at you, then release the E to unleash a powerful shockwave. This is much stronger than if you just hold E and released but didn’t take any damage. In other words, this ability is like Parry’s. If you parry its attack, your damage will be much higher.
