Collei Quick TL;DR Support and Sub-DPS Build Guide

PSA #1: A Support does their best to assist their team accomplish their goals. Make sure to utilize them properly!

PSA #2: Both Collei’s abilities scale off ATK and she plays as a hybrid Support and sub-DPS!

Collei throws a giant Dendro boomerang that does Dendro DMG going out and coming back

The E itself isn’t too complex. It’s thrown center of Collei, and returns to her left side in a small arc. Keep in mind that enemies can only get hit twice from the boomerang: once going out and once coming back.

Important Tip: Once the boomerang is thrown, you can swap characters and it will still stay on the field.

Will go into more detail at her Ascension 1 passive, but the core concept of her E is to quickly apply Dendro to enemies in front of you to trigger the A1 passive.

Proc a Dendro-based reaction before the boomerang returns to spawn a Sprout that does damage!

As the description says, if you proc a Dendro-based reaction before E’s boomerang returns you will successfully spawn a Sprout that does AoE Dendro DMG around your character

What the Sprout looks like. Does a small AoE around your character!

Info on the Sprout:

  • Does 40% of Collei’s ATK as damage to nearby enemies
  • Lasts 3 seconds
  • Any buffs that boost Elemental Skill DMG applies to the Sprout

So the ideal combo is to use Collei’s Q > E > and then swap to who you want proc’ing the elemental reaction to spawn the Sprout.

Collei yeets her doll “Cuilein-Anbar” dealing AoE Dendro DMG. Then the doll bounces around in a field, dealing continuous AoE Dendro DMG.

Think Amber’s Q, but instead of raining Pyro arrows it’s a green doll just bouncing around. It also doesn’t matter how many or where enemies are in the field; if they’re inside it, they’ll take Dendro DMG.

While the internal CD (basically how long until the DMG can proc an elemental reaction) is 3 seconds, it’s still a great way to apply Dendro to a mass of enemies consistently

Basically, proc’ing Dendor-based reactions inside the Q extends the duration by 3s.

You can instantly extend the duration by 2s by proc’ing one reaction from the Q itself, and then another from using Collei’s E. The last proc you will get once Q’s internal cooldown resets.

This extends the duration of Collei’s Q from 6s to 9s, which drops the downtime to only 6 seconds.

Talent Leveling Order: Q > E > NA (only level NA if you’re running main DPS)

WEAPON #1 (Recommended for best Support DPS): Elegy for the End

How do I get it D: ? – It’s time to roll boys (gacha)

Has base ER% scaling and provides a ton of EM for both Collei and her team

Elegy for the End is a solid choice for both Support and sub-DPS Collei as she benefits from the ER%, and can consistently proc the Sigil of Remembrance buff with her Q alone. Once fully stacked, Elegy provides +100 EM and 20% ATK buff to the entire team. While the 20s CD seems long, it’s fairly short considering a regular combo rotation can last over 15 seconds (especially with Collei’s Q lasting 9s and on a 15s CD). When paired with an Electro or Hydro/Pyro comp, these chain reactions from Bloom and Quicken procs can provide huge burst DPS.

Polar Star is a better alternative for sub-DPS Collei, as she will be able to quickly stack the weapon skill efficiently and benefit from the CRIT%. This provides a tremendous amount of ATK% which allows for Collei’s Q to do a lot more DMG. It’s less team synergy, hence why it’s focused for a more DPS-centered Collei.

Aqua Simulacra is a decent alternative as just simply being near an enemy provides a 20% ATK buff. Along with the CRIT DMG provided from the weapon, you can easily build for a ATK/CRIT Collei.

WEAPON #2 (Recommended for 4-star Support): Favonius Warbow

How do I get it D: ? – It’s time to roll boys (gacha)

Has base ER% scaling and provides much needed particle generation

Before I start, Favonius and Sacrificial both pretty much hold this spot together.

Favonius Warbow is a standard preference as currently Dendro-based particle generation is extremely poor between the 3 Dendro characters (Collie, Tighnari, and Dendro Traveler). Collei has horrible particle generation herself, and while her Q is only 60 energy it will still take some time. Since Collei will be building CRIT values, the additional particle generation from Warbow can be a stopgap.

HOWEVER, if you have a battery like Venti/Raiden/Sucrose, etc…, then you can run Sacrifical Bow instead to reset the E CD. Both bows provide a good chunk of ER%, so it’s based on preference.

Alternatively, Stringless is also a great option as it provides EM scaling and provides a raw DMG buff to Collei’s E and Q. Windblume Ode is another competitor for it’s simple buff that naturally incorporates into Collei’s playstyle.

ARTIFACTS (Recommended for best buffs): Deepwood Memories

How do I get it D: ? – Spire of Solitary Enlightenment Domain (AR 22 locked, 20 Resin per run)

Buffs Dendro DMG and shreds Dendro RES on enemies

4x Deepwood Memories is a new staple for all Dendro character, regardless if they’re DPS or Support. The fact it does both, of buffing DMG and reducing enemy RES, make it paramount to running over most other artifact sets. Collei’s Q befits the most from this, as it can constantly benefit from both the 2x and 4x bonuses.

For a more Support-oriented build, you can also run 4x Noblesse to not only buff your whole team with the ATK% boost, but also just additional Q DMG for Collei. While I would recommend 4x Emblem, it’s not the best option if your artifacts aren’t heavily ER% optimized.

For early players, feel free to run 4x Exile set for the much needed ER% generation. It’ll help ease your team’s burst rotations until they can farm much better artifacts later on.

Main stats:

SandsGobletCirclet
ATK%/ER%Dendro DMG%CRIT% or CRIT DMG

Run ER% on Sands if you don’t run a battery or find yourself struggling to have Q ready per rotation

Substats: CRIT% > CRIT DMG > ATK (ATK% if not main stat) > EM > ER%

If you want other characters let me know. Hope this helped. Bye.

  1. Thoughts on the Fading Twilight bow? Adds ER and boosts attack even while off field; seems decent for a sub-dps/enabler combo

    • I haven’t unfortunately fully tested the weapon, but by description it sounds like a good option. My only issue is that it rotates the damage buff every 7s, which means it’ll be a bit finicky to match your burst rotation with the Dawnblaze buff.
