Date’s Challenge World Quest Guide

Date’s Challenge is a world quest is Enkanomiya, added to the game in the 2.4 update. In this quest, travellers will have to finish a series of puzzles to get through a maze. While that may seem daunting at first, with this guide, we’ll make solving puzzles as easy as possible.

Finding the quest

While Date’s Challenge officially begins after you interact with the Sinshade named Date, there’s one puzzle that needs to be solved first.

To find it, teleport to the Evernight Temple. Over there, under the Waypoint, you’ll find a maze. Instead of going there, glide over to the sun and moon mechanism and switch to Whitenight. When that is done, parts of the maze will disappear. That doesn’t mean you can go in yet.

The first step to solving this puzzle is rearranging the maze so that all the Hydro Totems inside are accessible. To do this, you’ll need to use the two Triangular mechanisms located right in front of the sun a nd moon mechanism. One triangular mechanism rotates the outer walls while the other rotates the inner walls. To activate them, all you have to do is hit them once.

Keep shifting the walls until they look like the image below.

Now, switch to Evernight and enter the maze. Follow the open paths and activate all the Hydro Totems. When that is done, a secret path leading underground will open. Glide down and you’ll find the Sinshade Date inside.

Date’s Challenge

Interact with Date and he’ll proudly ask you if you have a hard time solving his puzzle. He is the creator of the maze and is clearly very happy with his creation. As you talk to him, he’ll give you another puzzle to solve. This is the real challenge of this quest. When you accept to solve the challenge, Date will give you a key and then send you on your way.

Following the navigation, teleport to the Serpent’s Heart and then use the Key to enter the Heterodoxa Labyrinth. Now, we have a puzzle to solve.

The Heterodoxa Labyrinth

At first glance, the puzzle in the labyrinth may seem a little confusing. Inside, you’ll find one sun and moon mechanism in the middle of the room. There are also two triangular mechanisms on either side of the room. One of them will be behind three walls. Every time you hit a triangular mechanisms, the walls will move towards it.

The basic idea of the puzzle is very simple. There are three rows in the room, one on the left, another in the middle and one on the right. While some of them have a wall, others do not. In the middle row, on either side, you will also find two barricades that you can lift using the lever near them. Lastly, when you switch to Evernight, two walls will appear then.

So, how do you do about solving this puzzle? It’s simple. You need to make the row on the left and right symmetrical.

Basically, the room should look something like the picture below on either side.

To do this, all you have to do is let the barricades stay down and hit either mechanisms once. to bring the remaining wall to the middle row. Now, go to the sun and moon mechanism and switch to Evernight. And you’re done!

All that’s left to do is go back to Date and collect the medal of recognition from him. Using that, you’ll be able to open the door to his secret room.
