Eula Quick TL;DR DPS Build Guide

Updated for 2.3 😁!

PSA #1: I don’t have a clever anecdote for this one… I’m just down bad for Eula 😩👌

PSA #2: Both of Eula’s abilities scale of ATK. Honestly I have zero clue why a giant, frozen, cryo sword would cause nuclear devastation as Phys DMG, but I do know it slaps HARD

Swings her giant ice sword and does an AoE Cryo attack. Can Tap to do a small AoE or Hold to do a larger AoE swing that does more damage. Using Tap E will provide bonus buffs/debuffs explained below!

PSA #3: Tap E grants her a “Grimheart” stack which is important for optimizing damage!

Each stack of Grimheart lasts 18 seconds each, meaning they have independent timers to each other. It’s important to remember that Tap E is the only way to gain stacks — Hold E will consume these stacks to do additional damage by applying debuffs. Must hit an enemy to receive a stack!

Hold E will consume any Grimheart stacks to release an additional AoE attack (Icewhirl Brand)

This is what a Grimheart stack looks like at 2 stacks (max)

Grimheart offers 3 main buffs/debuffs (these are based off E’s Talent Level 8 numbers):

  1. Buffs Eula’s DEF by 30% per stack (60% DEF bonus total) and gives her interruption resistance
  2. Debuffs enemies’ by reducing their Phys Resistance by 23% (doesn’t stack)
  3. Debuffs enemies’ by reducing their Cryo Resistance by 23% (doesn’t stack)

While the DEF buff lasts the same duration as the Grimheart stacks, the debuffs only last 7 seconds, so make sure to utilize your burst within that time window to maximize damage!

If you Hold E with Grimheart stacks, will spawn mini Cryo swords that jam into the ground to do an AoE Phys attack

IMPORTANT NOTE: Another localization error — it works if you only have 1 Grimheart stack as well. Meaning you don’t need 2 to proc this passive

The damage is actually pretty nice, as it’s scaled off your Q’s damage, so make sure to always get 2 stacks of Grimheart before Hold E

Eula summons her giant, ancestral cryo sword and goes a massive AoE Cryo attack. Will then summon a tiny floating sword that completes itself as you deal damage. Explodes and does massive AoE Phys DMG!

IMPORTANT TIP: Each hit on an enemy will give you a stack. For example: if you do Eula’s full Normal Attack combo, it’ll grant 7 stacks instead of 5 since her 3rd and 5th attack grants 2 hits. For a better explanation, check out Zeal’s in-depth breakdown of how the stacks work

Her Q will also explode on it own in 7 seconds whether you have it nearly stacked or not, so make sure to get those hits in!

The scaling on her Q is insanely high, and although it’s Phys DMG, it doesn’t matter because of the sheer damage those multipliers provide. Here’s what her Q’s multiplier is at max stacks on level 8: 4,473.4% of her ATK.

So let’s say you have 2,100 ATK and we’re solely tracking her damage from Lightfall explosion alone (no debuffs, no CRIT, nothing). That means the explosion will basically do 93,941.4 Phys DMG. That’s nothing to laugh at… add the debuffs, CRIT DMG, and all her Phys DMG bonuses — it’s why people are hitting over millions of damage so consistently on her

After her Q, your E is instantly reset from CD

PSA #4: Here are her combos (weave Normal Attacks in) –

Without Q: Tap E > Tap E > Hold E
With Q: Tap E > Q > Hold E > Tap E (this way your Q explosion will still benefit from E’s Phys RES reduction!)

Talent Leveling Order: Normal > Q > E (Normal > Q since her Q is 80 energy. Your sustained DPS will be from Normal Attacks)

WEAPON #1 (Recommended for best DPS): Wolf’s Gravestone

How do I get it D: ? – It’s time to roll boys (gacha)

Has base ATK% scaling and just provides an overkill of ATK

The raw ATK scaling it provides purely trumps Song of Broken Pines in total damage –– the counter argument being “you can get more stacks in from the ATK SPD bonus,” but that’s not a consistent enough buff in a sustain DPS calculation (20s downtime is a big gap). Also allows for you to run an ER Sands > ATK Sands for maintaining her Q uptime

The Unforged will also outscale SoBP if you’re running a shield character, but this isn’t a huge issue since Diona’s shield + heal is great, will provide you Cryo resonance for free CRIT%, and her E can be spammed

Skyward Pride is unfortunately bad BUT if you have it, you can run it on her to help with her ER problems. Still better in overall DPS than 4-stars though.

WEAPON #2 (Recommended for 4-star): Serpent Spine

How do I get it D: ? – Battlepass (Tier 30)

Has base CRIT% scaling and increases all DMG sources as it stacks

Even at lower refinements, Serpent Spine will outperform all other 4-stars at max stacks. Higher refinements only gap this damage difference. The extra DMG received can be ignored since Eula gains DEF% from her E

Luxurious Sea-Lord is also a great weapon (plus it’s R5 free pretty much), as it helps scale Eula’s Q damage by a lot. Similar with Akuoumaru being better than Sea-Lord at R3+, but I would argue that if you don’t have a team that exceeds around 240 Energy Cost it’s not really worth it — this is including Eula’s 80 cost btw

Snow-Tombed Starsilver and Prototype Archaic are both totally fine to run though. If you’re a F2P, and have good CRIT% substats, then Snow-Tombed can be an optimal weapon choice for damage output

ARTIFACT #1 (Recommended for best DPS): Pale Flame

How do I get it D: ? – Ridge Watch Domain (AR 30 locked, 20 Resin per run)

Boosts her Normal/Charged attack + her Q, and extremely easy to trigger the full stacks!

Her E + Q combo makes it extremely easy to maintain the stacks when it matters. Just remember to keep your E combo consistent, and you’ll have 100% uptime

If you don’t have perfect Pale Flame pieces yet, don’t sweat it. Just run 2-set Pale + 2-set Bloodstained in the meantime until you do to amp her NA + Q DPS

ARTIFACT #2 (Recommended for early DPS): Gladiator’s Finale

How do I get it D: ? – Any World Boss (40 Resin per run)

Boosts everything and just helps with Eula’s Normal Attacks

If you’re extremely new to the game and don’t have an excess amount of Gladiator’s pieces, then just stack two +18% ATK sets like Sojourners + Brave Heart

Or if you’re struggling with ER and don’t have a battery unit, then run Exile + any +18% ATK sets

Main stats:

SandsGobletCirclet
ATK%Phys DMG%CRIT%/CRIT DMG

Substats: CRIT % > CRIT DMG > ATK% (flat ATK if main stat) > ER%

If you want other characters let me know. Eula’s Team Comp build will be coming out later this weekend! Hope this helped. Bye.

I spend too much time filling out spreadsheets for incoherent data, but at least I can turn them into guides :P

  1. I just did a bit of testing on Song of Broken Pines it seems like the downtime is 8~ seconds on the buff and not 20. It seems like once the buff is activated that duration of the buff is included in the 20s lockout window. I’m not sure how much this impacts the recommended weapon.

    • The CD does begin when it procs (just like how with some bursts the CD still ticks down as the ability is in-use), but it doesn’t warrant enough of a gap to force pull SoBP. Is it an optimal weapon, sure. If you already have Wolf’s Gravestone should you pull for it, probably not.

At higher refinements, the ATK SPD buff does become slightly more relative to overall stacks provided, but that’s if you’re willing to pull that many copies.

  2. how good is snow tomb for her compared to serpent spine and prototype if all on refinement 1? i have enough critrate/damage so i’ll ignore the substat of serpent spine

    • If they’re all at R1, and we’re ignoring Serpent Spine’s CRIT%, then Snow-Tombed will do slightly better. The 30% DMG bonus to all sourced provided by SS is really good, but in this specific situation R1 Snow-Tombed will provide more.

But in higher refinements: SS will always do much better

  3. im so glad, I was looking for your post on reddit and then here. I am lost without you, thank you sm. Also, I saw that some of your builds were taken down. Im so happy you post here too!

      • can u tell me ur preference between skyrider greatsword and snow-tombed? I’m kind of early on (like I only have 2 bad pieces of gladiator’s finale kind of early on). I’ve been seeing people say skyrider is great for her obviously the artifacts have to make up for it being 3 stars but idk I have ehh ones and it works well in WL2

        • For Eula, I would go with Snow-Tombed. It’s not the best option, but between though the two it will do better.

    • I believe this is the best combo for around 12+ hits: Tap E > Q > 4 normal attacks > Hold E > 4 normal attacks. The only other advice is to wait until AFTER the two swords from Holding E land before normal attacking again, since if you normal attack as the 2 swords land it’ll overlap each other and count as 1 stack!
