Fayz Trials: Hypothesis Event Guide

Chugging the “Fayz Potion” in Domains allows your mind to be so extremely shard that you can observe a fantastic scene where time almost stops amid combat. Take this opportunity to observe your opponents closely and capture their weaknesses as exposed mid-battle. Take them down this way to help the groaning Sumeru researcher finish his project.
Gameplay Overview
Event Gameplay Duration:
➥ June 21, 2023, 10:00:00 – July 03, 2023, 03:59:59 (Server Time)
Eligibility:
➥ Adventure Rank 20 or above
➥ Complete Archon Quest Prologue: Act III “Song of the Dragon and Freedom”
Event Overview:
➥ There are a total of 7 combat challenges and a new challenge will be unlocked each day for the first 7 days of the event.
➥ During the combat challenge, obtain Fayz Tinctures by defeating enemies (and also will be restored over time). Use the Fayz Potion to enter Time Dilation mode, using your Viewfinder to spot opponents’ Weaknesses. Combat will resume after the Time Dilation mode ends, while releasing a Supersense Skill to help Travelers complete the challenge faster.
➥ Upon entering Time Dilation mode, you can zoom in and out, or adjust your camera angle to adjust your field of vision. You can also save the onscreen image in your screenshots.
➥ Use your Supersense Skill wisely to defeat monsters to gain more points. After completing the challenge objectives, you will be able to obtain the corresponding rewards.
Gameplay Details
1) How to Get Fayz Tinctures

➥ There are 2 options to get Fayz Tinctures, and you can accumulate up to 3 uses of the Fayz Potion at any one time:
1. Defeating opponents in combat will grant Fayz Tinctures
2. It will be restored over time
2) Time Dilation Mode

➥ Fayz Tinctures can be used to enter Time Dilation mode. After you use the Fayz Potion and enter Time Dilation mode, you can use your Viewfinder to spot your opponent’s weaknesses and use the Supersense Skill. When you have spotted over 8 such weaknesses, you can unleash a buffed Supersense Skill.
● Spot below < 8 weaknesses = Supersense Skill
● Spot above > 8 weaknesses = Buffed Supersense Skill

➥ Once you tap [E] to use the Fayz Potion, you CAN move your Viewfinder to catch the last remaining weakness that might not be in the Viewfinder before. Don’t forget to zoom OUT as much as you can to get all the possible weaknesses.
3) Critical Weakness

➥ Different opponents have a different number of Weaknesses on them. Some opponents have golden Critical Weaknesses. Spotting Critical Weaknesses will allow you to obtain the buffed Supersense Skill twice as efficiently as ordinary Weaknesses. If you exit Time Dilation without spotting any Weaknesses, you will NOT use up any Fayz Potions.
➥ Is this event Co-Op- able? The answer is no.
Challenges Guide
1) The Limits of Joint Movement

Standard Effect: 3 Feralgrass Shockwaves will randomly be unleashed at the position of opponents who have had their weaknesses exposed, dealing AoE Dendro DMG. Opponents with more than 2 weaknesses spotted will be prioritized for attack.
Buffed Effect: The number of Feralgrass Shockwaves is increased to 5 and the Dendro DMG dealt is increased.
➥ There are 6 types of waves (spawn in the order I wrote):
● Samachurls, Hilichurls & Mitachurls (Wooden Shield)
● Treasure Hoarders & 2 Electro Cicin Mages
● Treasure Hoarders & 2 Mirror Maiden
● Samachurls, Hilichurls & Mitachurls (Blazing Axe)
● Treasure Hoarders & 2 Cryo Cicin Mages
● Treasure Hoarders & 2 Mirror Maiden

➥ Among the waves, it’s better to save your Fayz Potion and use them only when Electro/Cryo Cicin Mage and Mirror Maiden appear to one-shot them. This is because they have higher HP and lots of Critical Weaknesses compared to the Hilichurls gang. When the Hilichurl-Mitachurl-Samachurl waves appear, focus on using your characters’ Skill and Bursts. But, once there are only 30 seconds left, just use all your Fayz Potion until the ends whenever the CD ends.
2) The Repetition of Mechanical Structures

Standard Effect: Storm Sabers will randomly descend upon the position of opponents who have had their Weaknesses exposed, dealing continuous Hydro DMG to opponents within their AoE. This will also increase all party members’ Elemental Mastery by 120 for a certain period of time. Opponents with more than 2 Weaknesses exposed will be prioritized for attack.
Buffed Effect: More Storm Sabers will descend, dealing continuous Hydro DMG to opponents within their AoE. All party members’ Elemental Mastery will be increased by 200.
➥ There are 4 types of waves (spawn in the order I wrote):
● 3 Mitachurls > After defeated, spawn another 3 Mitachurls
● 2 Nobushi & 2 Kairagi
● 1 Ruin Grader & 2 Ruin Guards
● 2 Ruin Drake (Earthguard) & 2 Ruin Scout

➥ Among the waves, the enemies that have the most Weaknesses are Ruin enemies. It’s best if you focus on defeating enemies normally during Mitachurl and Kairagi waves to get Fayz Potion, then use the Potion when Ruin enemies start appearing. This way, you can one-shot them with the buffed Supersense Skill. Of course, when the timer nears its end, use all your remaining Fayz Potion without caring what waves it is.
3) The Restrictions of Fungal Vision

Standard Effect: A Hurricane Ring will be unleashed randomly upon the position of opponents who have had their Weaknesses exposed, dealing AoE Anemo DMG. This will also increase all party members’ ATK SPD by 15% for a certain period of time. Opponents with more than 2 Weaknesses exposed will be prioritized for attack.
Buffed Effect: A more powerful Hurricane Ring will be unleashed that deals increased AoE Anemo DMG. All party members’ ATK SPD will be increased by 25%.
➥ There are 6 types of waves (spawn in the order I wrote):
● A group of Cryo and Pyro Fungus
● Thundercraven Rifthounds and Whelps
● 1 Ruin Drake Skywatch and 2 Ruin Scouts
● A group of Dendro and Pyro Fungus
● Rockfond Rifthounds and Whelps
● 1 Ruin Drake Skywatch and 2 Ruin Defenders

➥ Of all waves of enemies, I recommend using your Fayz Potion on the group of Fungus and Rifthounds enemies. Yes, Ruin enemies may have higher HPs, but they are easily grouped together right after they spawned and can be one-shot with Wanderer’s Ultimate (with the help of other supports’ Burst). Meanwhile, the group of Fungus often scattered around the field and you need to chase them while the Rifthounds love to teleport.
4) The Oscillations of Unbalanced States

Standard Effect: Thunderpikes will be unleashed upon nearby opponents within a certain AoE, dealing Electro DMG. Meanwhile, your active character will gain a Thunderwoven Ring that will continuously apply Electro to nearby opponents for a certain period of time. This will also restore a certain amount of Energy to all party members.
Buffed Effect: Enhanced Thunderpikes will be unleashed, dealing increased Electro DMG, and the Thunderwoven Ring will persist for longer.
➥ There are 3 types of waves (spawn in the order I wrote):
● A group of Hilichurl, Samachurl, and 2 Mitachurl (Blazing Axes)
● 6 Treasure Hoarders and 2 Electro Cicin Mages
● 6 Treasure Hoarders and 2 Mirror Maidens

➥ This challenge’s enemies are very similar to the first challenge, and I still think the Fayz Potions should be saved for elite enemies like Electro Cicin Mage and Mirror Maidens since they love to teleport. But since you will gain a Thunderwoven Ring for a certain period, it’s also an option to use Fayz Potions on one wave, skip using it for the next wave, and use the potion again for the next wave; to take full advantage of the Thunderwoven Ring that will apply Electro on enemies.
5) The Inadequacy of Shape and Form

Standard Effect: Fracturing Wildgrass followed by Wave Barrage will be unleashed randomly upon the position of opponents who have had their Weaknesses exposed, dealing AoE Dendro and Hydro DMG respectively. This will also restore a certain amount of Energy to all party members. Opponents with more than 2 Weaknesses exposed will be prioritized for attack.
Buffed Effect: Enhanced Fracturing Wildgrass and Wave Barrage will be unleashed, dealing increased AoE Dendro and Hydro DMG respectively. A greater amount of Energy will be restored to all party members.
➥ There are 6 types of waves (spawn in the order I wrote):
● 3 Grounded Hydroshroom
● 2 Eremite Sword-Dancer and 2 Eremite Stone Enchanters
● 2 Ruin Guard and 1 Ruin Grader
● 3 Ground Geoshroom
● 2 Eremite Ravenbeak Halberdier and 2 Eremite Floral Ring-Dancers
● 2 Ruin Drake: Earthguard and 2 Ruin Defender

➥ There’s a variety of enemies here, with obviously different amounts of Weaknesses. Remember that the Supersense Skill this time will attack the enemies twice (first dealing Dendro DMG, then Hydro DMG). But that’s not really important, the important part is that it will restore Energy for your team. Cyno’s team is in dire need of Energy because everyone except Collei needs 80 Energy for Burst (which is their main damage output) but their Trial equipment and stats aren’t really helpful in gaining Energy
➥ I find it best to use Fayz Potion on one wave (1st), then after gaining the free Energy, use the whole team’s Burst to defeat the next wave (2nd) without using Fayz Potion. Then when the next wave (3rd) appears, we use the Fayz Potion again and the cycle repeats. This allows us to consistently use the team’s Burst and also the Fayz Potions.
6) The Breaking of Surface Tension

Standard Effect: A Crag Shatter will be unleashed randomly at the position of opponents who have had their Weaknesses exposed, dealing AoE Geo DMG. If the AoE contains Geo constructs, resonance will occur that will unleash a Consorting Shatter after a certain period of time at the position of said constructs, dealing AoE Geo DMG. Consorting Shatter can be unleashed once in this way. Opponents with more than 2 Weaknesses exposed will be prioritized for attack.
Buffed Effect: A more powerful Crag Shatter will be unleashed that deals increased AoE Geo DMG. Geo constructs will also unleash more powerful Consorting Shatters, dealing increased AoE Geo DMG.
➥ There are 6 types of waves (spawn in the order I wrote):
● A group of Cryo and Pyro Slimes
● A group of Hilichurl, Samachurl, and Mitachurl
● A group of Hydro and Electro Slimes
● A group of Hilichurl, Samachurl, and Mitachurl
● A group of Treasure Hoarders, Nobushi and Kairagi
● A group of Treasure Hoarders, Nobushi and Kairagi

➥ The Supersense Skill here makes use of Geo constructs (Itto’s Ushi, Albedo’s Skill, !Gorou’s Skill and Burst are not Geo Construct!), so make sure you plant a Geo construct first before using your Fayz Potion. For example, if you don’t have any Geo construct when using Fayz Potion, it will only deal AoE Geo DMG once. But if you have any Geo construct near enemies before using Fayz Potion, it will deal AoE Geo DMG twice (First from Crag Shatter, and second from Consorting Shatter). You can see it in the GIF I includes above.
➥ For the waves that is best to use the Fayz Potion for, I’ll say any waves will do. This is because you will most likely have a 100% uptime burst for the team and Itto’s DMG is strong enough to kill all of them (with a full stack of Superlative Superstrength). But it’s better if you save some Fayz Potions for the Kairagi waves in cases your Bursts’ Cooldown is not ended yet when they spawn.
7) The Obstacles of Coordinated Action

Standard Effect: A Truegrass Strike will be unleashed randomly upon the position of opponents who have had their Weaknesses exposed, dealing AoE Dendro DMG. This will also increase all party members’ Elemental Mastery by 120 and their resistance to interruption for a certain period of time. Opponents with more than 2 Weaknesses exposed will be prioritized for attack.
Buffed Effect: A more powerful Truegrass Strike will be unleashed that deals increased AoE Dendro DMG. All party members’ Elemental Mastery will be increased by 200, and their resistance to interruption will be increased.
➥ There are 5 types of waves (spawn in the order I wrote):
● 3 Mitachurls + 3 Mitachurls (Only appear once)
● 4 Hilichurls, Samachurl, and 2 Anemo Hilichurl Rogues
● 4 Hilichurls, Samachurl, and 2 Hydro Hilichurl Rogues
● 2 Treasure Hoarders, 2 Eremites, and 2 Eremite Galehunters
● 2 Treasure Hoarders, 2 Eremites, and 2 Eremite Scorching Loremaster

➥ The Supersense Skill in this challenge is really straight to the point and easy to use. For which mobs are more recommended to use, I’d say go for the Eremites Galehunters and Scorching Loremaster. This is because once their HP is low, they will summon their spirit animals, and while it’s not really a threat, more mobs will spawn if you didn’t kill the elite enemies fast.
➥ The trial team here is good with constant uptime Burst, so your team actually won’t have any problem defeating every wave easily (but the challenge want us to capture weaknesses using the Fayz Potions so-).
