Gorou Quick TL;DR Support Build Guide

PSA #1: Supports are the cheerleaders of your team. There too boost your morale and make sure your DPS’ do their damn best to win. Go team, go!

PSA #2: Both Gorou’s abilities scale off DEF, and boy does he need a lot of it. He’s basically Albedo, if instead of damage he just provides buffs for your team. Amazing in a mono-Geo team though!

Gorou slams down the warbanner, doing an AoE Geo DMG attack. Allies who stand inside it gain multiple buffs!

You get 3 major buffs when in Gorou’s E based on how many Geo characters are in your party (including Gorou):

  1. Standing Firm – you gain a Flat DEF bonus (increases as you level E)
  2. Impregnable – Increased interruption RES (increases as you level E)
  3. Crunch – 15% Geo DMG Bonus (stays at 15% across all levels)

If you leave the field, you still maintain these buffs for 2s

Pretty much the same exact thing as E, except now you deal Geo DMG to ONE enemy in the field. Field follows you around, and magnetizes any Crystallize shards to your character.

As noted: it’s basically just E that follows you around. You do Geo DMG to ONE enemy in the field (closest enemy will get targeted), and it will pull Crystallize shards to your active character.

In co-op, this will still only pull Crystallize to YOUR Gorou/character. Doesn’t really benefit allies other than the 3 passive buffs. Also if your Gorou dies at any point, POOF. The field and all your buffs are gone.

Using Q basically further buffs your team’s DEF
This is why you prioritize DEF% > other stats on Gorou. Basically supercharges his E and Q DMG

Talent Leveling Order: E > Q > Normal (you really don’t have to level Normal…)

WEAPON #1 (Recommended for best Supporting): Favonius Warbow

How do I get it D: ? – It’s time to roll boys (gacha)

Has base ER% scaling and really only used for the high ER%

Favonius Warbow is recommended due to it’s ridiculously high ER% stat. That’s literally it. At level 90/90, Favonius boasts an incredible 61.3% ER when the 5-star Elegy only provides 55.1% ER. The reason why ER% is so valuable is because 1) Gorou has pretty crappy particle generation, and 2) his Q costs a whopping 80 energy…

When run in an mono-Geo comp (or 3 Geo + 1 Bennett), you can do a bit better with generating Geo particles to fill gauge, but otherwise he will need all the help he can get.

Sacrificial Bow is not as in high-demand since Gorou’s E is a 10s duration and a 10s CD, meaning it’s up pretty much 100% of the time (the CD ticks down the moment it’s used)

ARTIFACT #1 (Recommended for best Buffing): Husk of Opulent Dreams + Emblem of Severed Fate

How do I get it D: ? – Husk at Slumbering Court Domain (AR 30 Locked, 20 Resin per run) and Emblem at Momiji-Dyed Court Domain (AR 30 Locked, 20 Resin per run)

Boosts E and Q damage
Helps Gorou get Q faster

2x Husk + 2x Emblem is a pretty optimal setup for Gorou since it both boosts his damage + helps with his energy regen. If you find yourself with a lot of ER%, then you can technically run 4x Husk for the additional DEF%.

4x Noblesse is decent as well, but doesn’t really pump out as much damage as expected and mainly used for the ATK% buff — can be used if no one else on the party is using it!

Otherwise, for early placeholders 4x Scholar or 4x The Exile sets will do great for energy regen until you can farm for the sets above!

Substats: DEF% > ER% > ATK% > CRIT values

  1. Isn’t Crit % better than ATK% as you still need a decent crit rate in order to proc favonius bow’s effect ? Or do you only use the bow for it’s ER stat ?

    • ER isn’t much of an issue for Gorou since his E is pretty spammable and a single battery can hold his burst up frequently . You mainly just want to stack DEF as much as you can, but you typically want around 2,000+ to maximize your E’s buff.
