Kokomi Quick TL;DR Healer (and DPS) Build Guide! – Version 2.3 – December 2021

Updated for 2.5 😁!

PSA #1: Healers are the White Mages of the party. If they die your party wipes, and that’s why nobody f**ks with the White Mage.

PSA #2: Both Kokomi’s abilities scale off Max HP, and she’s a special case since she can both heal and DPS fairly well! Details about her DPS build will be listed below the artifacts.

Kokomi summons a giant jellyfish that pulses an AoE Hydro attack, while also healing allies within the AoE!

IMPORTANT TIP: The initial pulse when spawning the jellyfish also heals you/damages enemies!

So in total, the E will pulse 7 times (1st pulse from spawning it + 6 pulses over the 12s duration — i.e. 1 pulse every 2 seconds).

Keep in mind that the E heal is not team-wide, and will only heal the character active on field + within E AoE.

Essentially if you use Q before the E duration ends, it refreshes duration

This is essential if you’re running 4x Tenacity of the Millelith, as it essentially means you’re providing a 20% ATK buff to your team for (max) 24 seconds.

Mid-combat, it can be hard to track when your jellyfish is almost gone, so just use Q after the 5th or 6th pulse to refresh the duration!

Kokomi puts on her garb and basically decides that rather than healing her team, she’ll just kill all the enemies. Does a massive AoE Hydro attack on activation. Her Normal and Charged attacks will heal your whole team. SCALES OFF MAX HP!

A lot to digest, but it’s pretty simple to breakdown:

  • On activation, does a massive AoE Hydro attack
  • Boosts E’s damage while Q is active
  • Normal/Charged attacks heal your whole team
  • Kokomi also becomes Jesus and can walk on water + gains interruption resistance

This is what allows Kokomi to be a dual healer + DPS, since HP is the easiest stat to stack and she scales insanely well with it. Currently my Kokomi (with around 28,000 HP) hits around 4k+ consistently from her Q form, which is still impressive considering she’s not able to CRIT at all.

Her healing is nothing to scoff at either during Q form. Let’s say you have 30,000 Max HP on Kokomi (really easy to get that amount btw), with a level 8 Q.

That means PER NA/CA HIT, you’re healing everyone on your team 610.65 HP ([{30,000 x .0129 = 397} + 144 = 531] x .15 = 79.65 + 531 = 610.65) — sorry for the messy math lol

Kokomi can NA 15 times before her Q form ends, meaning in total she’s able to heal her team 9,159.75 HP — keep in mind this is BEFORE any other healing bonus%/healing buff

Basically, the NA and CA from Q is buffed based off healing bonus

So if we were to use her passive (25% healing bonus) as an example, that means that her NA/CA in Q form would get a 3.75% (25 x .15) additional multiplier from her Max HP.

I’ll repeat it again: this isn’t a direct damage buff, but rather an add-on to the Max HP multiplier. For example, at level 8, her Q form’s NA does 7.7% of Kokomi’s Max HP. With the A4 passive, it will instead of 11.45% (7.7 + 3.75) of her Max HP

So if we have 30,000 Max HP, then instead of doing 2,310 per NA, it would do 3,425 per NA (that’s a 1,115 damage increase!)

She can’t CRIT lmao 🤣, but she gets to heal harder

Talent Leveling Order: Q > E > Normal

WEAPON #1 (Recommended for best healing): Everlasting Moonglow

How do I get it D: ? – It’s time to roll boys (gacha)

Has base HP% scaling and increases healing done + works well with Kokomi’s Q

Everlasting Moonglow is essentially made for Kokomi. It boosts healing bonus, and her NA DMG is buffed by how much Max HP she has. However, the unseen hero is that her NA will regen her energy while in Q form. Keep in mind that Kokomi’s E provides very little energy (1 particle per pulse), and being able to generate energy for her 70 cost burst is huge!

For DPS – Skyward Atlas can work since it provides a lot of ATK + Elemental DMG bonus. Memory of Dust is also a giant ATK stat buffer, but only downside being that you need to force a shielder on your team to maximize the benefits.

WEAPON #2 (Recommended for F2P): Prototype Amber

How do I get it D: ? – Forge (Prototype x1, Crystal Chunk x50, White Iron Chunk x50)

Has base HP% scaling and provides additional heals for team

Prototype Amber is arguably the best in slot for both F2P and 4-star Catalysts. It provides HP%, gives Kokomi a ton of energy back after using Q, and can additionally heal her team even more. At R5, this weapon is unmatchable in terms of utility provided to Kokomi (even among DPS options).

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers is also an extremely viable option, as it provides HP% as well and an insanely strong 48% ATK buff to the next character you swap to. TTDS has always been a staple for Catalyst supports/healers, and is a cheap/affordable option for players who don’t have crafting mats for Prototype Amber

For DPS – Dodoco Tales is extremely proficient at buffing Kokomi’s CA during her Q form + giving her an ATK% buff — it was also a free R5 during the event! The only other honorable mention is Eye of Perception, as it’s basically a 4-star version of Skyward Atlas.

PSA #3: I’ll save you time — if you’re looking for DPS Kokomi, just run 4x Heart of Depth for artifacts! Below are Healer/Support artifacts

ARTIFACT #1 (Recommended for best healing): Ocean-Hued Clam

How do I get it D: ? – Slumbering Court Domain (AR 30 Locked, 20 Resin per run)

Boosts her E and Q heals AND does damage

Ocean-Hued Clam has a long description, but basically whenever you heal it stacks the bubble that will then explode and do damage based on 90% of how much you’ve healed. It works nice with Kokomi since she can stack his off-field as well with her E. It’s also great for DPS Kokomi at the same time with her burst!

“2Board, why not 4x Maiden for max healing?” — because it’s overkill. Kokomi’s E alone can heal proficiently enough, and while 4x Maiden does increase the heal per tick/proc, the goal of Kokomi’s Q form is to deal damage WHILE healing. Running 2x Heart of Depth alongside 2x Maiden allows you to essentially gain the best of both worlds, with practically zero loss

If your goal is to strictly make her heal, then feel free to run 4x Maiden — or even 2x Maiden + 2x Millelith for the additional 20% HP buff (albeit it is less effective vs 4x Maiden)

ARTIFACT #2 (Recommended for best support): Tenacity of the Millelith

How do I get it D: ? – Ridge Watch Domain (AR 30 locked, 20 Resin per run)

Boosts her overall heal and damage + provides ATK buff to team!

When paired with her A1 passive, 4x Millelith is basically a permanent 20% ATK buff, as you can cast E again after the 2nd duration (from A1 refresh) ends — to which by then your Q should be up again.

To be quite honest, there are no other better options for support Kokomi. You can run 4x Noblesse if you really want for the ATK buff, but it’s wasted on her even with the 2x bonus increasing her Q form damage.

Main stats:

SandsGobletCirclet
HP%HP% (Hydro DMG% for DPS)Healing Bonus%

Substats: HP% > ATK% > ER% > EM (no point focusing CRIT values due to passive)

If you want other characters let me know. Hope this helped. Bye.

  1. Thank you for the Guide on Kokomi ^^

Quick question, would 2PC Millelith and 2PC Hidden Depths be fine for a Heal-DPS Hybrid Kokomi?

    • It’s not the worst thing? But you would still be much better off running 2x Maiden for the heals if the goal is to focus on a heal hybrid

  2. Can kokomi replace Mona? I do have healing problems because of my playstyle.

P.S. I am planning to add Bennett as support/heal to my team once he is available.

    • In terms of being able to apply Hydro on enemies, Kokomi will do a pretty similar job — minding that obviously she can’t help you nuke like Mona Q. Heal wise, she’s more than sufficient.

If you are planning on running Bennett later, then Kokomi can definitely be a great Hydro replacement to Mona.

  3. Would you recommend R5 Prototype Amber or R5 Thrilling Tales for a support option? I still would like to do damage with her during Q as well just as a reference (running 2PC HoD/2PC Maiden’s), and not just use her as a jellyfish bot! I just wasn’t sure if the broken effect of Thrilling Tales would outweigh the higher HP% of R5 Prototype Amber and its energy regeneration.

    • If you’re looking to still do damage with her Q, then technically either option is perfectly fine (I could argue that Prototype gives a bit more due the extra HP% it provides compared to TTDS).

However, if you want your DPS to (overall) do more damage, then incorporating TTDS into your rotation will help deal a lot of damage. That 48% ATK buff is no joke.

TL;DR – TTDS if you want more damage for your team. Otherwise, Amber will do fine.

  4. In your guide, it said that Maiden and Heart of Depth as one of the recommended for her support role. But I’m wondering if the combination of Maiden and Tenacity can also be viable for her?

    • It is, but it will do less damage compared to Maiden + Heart. I would say Maiden + Tenacity is more of a placeholder (but still works nonetheless!)
