Mona Quick TL;DR DPS Build Guide

UPDATED FOR 2.0 😁!

PSA #1: DPS may stand for “damage per second,” but it also stands for “damn’s per second” because that’s what your team will be saying when you’re dishing out L’s

PSA #2: Both Mona’s abilities scale with ATK. Who said a super soaker can’t do permanent damage? You’ll be “MON-A”ing (get it, moaning?) for more when she leaves the field 🙂

This is her passive. She pretty much said “why use my legs when I have MAGIC” and just swims around everywhere (SHE FAST AF BOY). Other characters’ stamina drain 25/s when they run. Mona just build different bro

IMPORTANT EXPLORATION TIP: SHE CAN USE THIS ACROSS WATER!

Can Michael Phelps do damage to others while he swims? Don’t think so buddy. Basically you spawn a mini E if you sprint near enemies

In combat, this is not a reliable passive. Although fine against less aggressive enemies (mainly fodder), enemies who stick onto you are more likely to still hit you when you exit your sprint animation

Because Mona has a weird frame where she can still take damage after her sprint ends (when she pops out the water), it’s preferred NOT to be used in combat

She’s a literal brat that taunts her enemies. They’re so pissed of they don’t even realize she’s constantly slapping them with hydro damage

If you tap her E, it places it far away. If you hold E, it will spawn it where she is and she’ll jump back cause she scared herself

Mona is a guaranteed psychopath. Her ultimate is literally drowning enemies near her by putting them in bubbles bro. FRIGGIN BUBBLES. Do them a favor and break them out of their bubbles by blowing them up

PSA #3: The ultimate itself doesn’t do damage on application; it’s a damage buffer. Until you hit the enemies in the bubbles, it will just CC them. Any damage done to the enemies will increase the damage of the said ability + Mona’s Q’s damage, and cause a hydro damage reaction (which is why Mona is also a great support!)

Please read the fine text: PSA #3 doesn’t mean that the Q doesn’t have it’s own damage on the ability; it means that the moment it’s applied on the enemies, it doesn’t deal damage. Example: If an enemy has 10 HP left and you used Mona Q, it won’t kill him because the application itself doesn’t do damage.

As if her kit wasn’t good already, her super soaker gains more damage if she has energy recharge

Talent Leveling Order: Q > E > Normal

WEAPON #1 (Recommended for nuke DPS): Skyward Atlas

How do I get it D: ? – It’s time to roll boys (gacha)

Has base ATK% scaling and makes Mona hurt more + weapon skill is pretty nutty

Solar Pearl is a DPS weapon for Mona as well if you have the battlepass. It gives CRIT% + boosts elemental DMG, so it overall makes her Q DPS incredibly high

WEAPON #2 (Recommended for early DPS): Mappa Mare

How do I get it D: ? – Forge (Prototype x1, Crystal Chunk x50, White Iron Chunk x50)

Has base Elemental Mastery scaling and gives an easy elemental DMG buff

At high refinement, Mappa Mare is a lethal weapon choice. Elemental mastery is also great for a reaction-reliant DPS like Mona (which alternatively also makes her a great burst DPS candidate)

At extremely early phases of the game, Magic Guide is also a great placeholder!

ARTIFACT #1 (Recommended for high DPS): Ocean Conqueror

How do I get it D: ? – Peak of Vindagnyr Domain (AR 30 locked, 20 Resin per run)

Increases Mona’s everything + 4-set bonus is basically up 24/7

Ocean Conqueror set beats Wanderer’s Troupe by a landslide. While typically the 80 EM from the 2-set bonus is great, Heart of Depth just increases overall total DPS much better

For a burst DPS Mona, running 4x Emblem of Severed Fate is the best option, as the damage bonus applies to her Q + the bonus damage as well!

ARTIFACT #2 (Recommended for early DPS): Instructor

How do I get it D: ? – Confront Stormterror Domain (60 Resin per run) or you can steal some chests

Reaction damage overkill

You can also go The Exile for quick burst spams. OR funny enough, Martial Artist is a pretty decent early placeholder

Main stats:

SandsGobletCirclet
ATK%Hydro DMG%CRIT% or CRIT DMG

Substats: CRIT% > CRIT DMG > ATK (ATK% if not main stat) > EM

If you want other characters let me know. Hope this helped. Bye.

I spend too much time filling out spreadsheets for incoherent data, but at least I can turn them into guides :P

    • For a nuke build, you can run Widsith with 4x Emblem, with CRIT values > ER% > ATK% > EM.

If you don’t want to run 4x Emblem, then 4x Noblesse works fine as well (but your burst will do less damage)
