Pre-Installation Function for Version 3.5 Now Available

Dear Travelers, the pre-installation function is now available on both PC and mobile platforms! Unfortunately, it is not available for PS4 or PS5 platforms. Pre-installation will download some of the new resources for version 3.5 in advance, which will speed up download progress at login after the update on March 1 and save more time.

How to Update on PC

The pre-installation function for Genshin Impact 3.5 is available from February 27 at 11:00 AM (UTC+8), so you must first update the Genshin Impact Launcher.

After updating the launcher, a “Game Pre-Installation” button will appear to the left of the “Launch” button. Click “Game Pre-Installation” or the “Get Now” to download the game resources for version 3.5. Using the pre-installation function can speed up the update progress of the launcher during version updates.

As you can see in the image above, the resource package size is 7.10GB while the disk space required for unzipping is 14.82GB. There’s a lot of space required even though there is no new area but there will be lots of voice lines so make sure to have a sufficient amount of storage on your PC.

Travelers on PC can still play the game while pre-installing game resources. Pre-installation will take up a certain amount of your network’s bandwidth, so it’s best to make sure you have a good network connection before beginning pre-installation.

How to Update on Mobile

There are 2 methods you can use for Mobile users, and you can choose either one of them. But remember that you can’t play the game while pre-installing game resources. It’s recommended that Travelers complete any Domains or other challenges they wish to finish first before beginning the pre-installation process.

Method 1: Travelers may also begin pre-installing update resources by tapping the “Pre-Install Resource Package” icon in the bottom-left corner of the login screen.

Method 2: Travelers may begin pre-installing update resources by going to the Paimon Menu > Settings > Resources > Pre-Install Resource Package.

When the version update is released, Travelers on iOS devices must enter the App Store and tap “Update.” Android users may open the game and follow the directions on-screen (or open Google Play and tap “Update”).

Using the pre-installation function will reduce the time that the game spends updating resources the first time you enter a new version, even if you did not fully complete pre-installation.

After pre-installation is finished, you can update the game and experience the new version content faster when the update maintenance is completed on March 1.
