Sucrose Quick TL;DR Support Build Guide – Version 2.6 – April 2022

UPDATED FOR 2.6 😁!

PSA #1: Support’s are like Q from James Bond. Your DPS can’t look cool doing their thang without cool gadgets, so make sure you’re doing your job

PSA #2: Both Sucrose’s abilities scale off ATK. She may be known as discount Venti, but she’s still one deadly, AoE, elemental reaction just waiting to blow up. She also has a weird fetish for butterflies or something like that ._.

Summon a giant anemo butterfly to suck in enemies and knocks them up

IMPORTANT TIP: E has an excruciatingly long CD, especially at C0, so highly recommended that you only use it to group at the start OR when your DPS has the proper burst rotation ready

Whatever element is added to swirl = characters of that element get more reaction damage

This can be achieved with Sucrose’s Normal/Charged Attack as well! Please don’t waste E’s long CD just to proc this. Keep in mind that your Q can also continuously maintain this buff for the majority of it’s duration!

Basically your E except it lasts longer and does more damage. Elements added into the Q will do more damage (literally a Venti Q that doesn’t move). Blows up at the end
More Sucrose has elemental mastery = more team gets elemental mastery. Sucrose is literally just an elemental mastery vending machine

This is the main reason Sucrose is often known as an EM mule, as she practically just stacks EM to donate to your DPS

Sucrose’s two passives are what make her so deadly, and makes your DPS into a reaction machine. The only thing that sucks is both E and Q have long CD’s, so make sure to utilize the opportunity when it arises

Talent Leveling Order: E > Q > Normal

WEAPON #1 (Recommended for maximum utility): Sacrificial Fragments

How do I get it D: ? – It’s time to roll boys (gacha)

Has base Elemental Mastery scaling and basically helps ease the long E CD

Sacrificial Fragments is extremely strong for Sucrose as it’ll essentially ensure she’ll have her E up. Not only that, but it also provides EM furthering her ability to mule EM to party members. If you have C2, Sacrificial Fragments is not necessarily needed — however it will make her E even more available to spam

If you were able to obtain C1 Sucrose, this weapon is undoubtedly best in slot for her, as it essentially ensures E uptime

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers can be argued to be currently the meta on Sucrose as not only will be provide an insane EM buff + Swirl shred from VV, but also an insane 48% ATK buff to the main DPS — I do advise running this OVER Sac Fragments if you have C2 Sucrose!

Magic Guide and Emerald Orb are also great early placeholders, as they both provide elemental mastery very early on. If you have Skyward Atlas, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, The Widsith, or even the Solar Pearl, they work well too. You mainly just want to stack elemental mastery with your weapon though.

ARTIFACT #1 (Recommended for best Supporting): Viridescent Venerer

How do I get it D: ? – Valley of Remembrance Domain (AR 30 locked, 20 Resin per run)

Take Sucrose’s damage and passive overboard. Feels extremely good to swap to your DPS and watch things poof out of existence

4x Viridescent Venerer is the strongest for Sucrose as it provides an amazing DEF shred to enemies affected by Swirl. Against enemies already innately infused with elements (slimes, elemental shields, etc…), use Sucrose’s normal attacks to trigger the swirl reaction to ensure the proper element. Her E and Q will be a gamble if there is a large group.

You can run full 4x Instructor or 4x Exile early. They both provide quality of life for Sucrose for elemental mastery and energy recharge, respectively

Main stats:

SandsGobletCirclet
EMEMEM

Substats: EM > ATK% > CRIT%/CRIT DMG > ER%

If you want other characters let me know. Hope this helped. Bye.

I spend too much time filling out spreadsheets for incoherent data, but at least I can turn them into guides :P

  1. 2board, 1st tysm for all these guides, helps heaps. Question: why do you say “if you have C2 Sucrose, Sacrificial Fragments will break her”? C2 just reduces Q cooldown by 2s so if you can explain further that would be great.

    • Ah, so when I mean “it breaks her” I mean it in like “she’s insanely strong.” I guess it could come off as confusing, but it’s a GOOD thing LOL

      • OK that’s great thx and thx for quick reply.
For artifacts, I’m curious why #2 is 2 Instructor + 2 Wanderers Troupe instead of 4 Instructor. The 4 Instructor seems to have a higher EM boost if you proc elemental reactions, e.g. swirl, so in theory this would be better (idk if it works out better in the game ofc)?

        • 4x Instructors is better overall, I think I just need to update some bits of the older character guides ;P (been slightly slacking on it lately haha)

          • First, thanks for your replies. Second, the fact you do any of these guides at all is awesome! They’re my #1 go to source for all my builds (tho I admit sometimes I might get a second opinion lol, but tbh they’re usu in line with ur guides anyway XD)

  2. 2board, sry a follow up artifact question. #1 is 4 VV… the spreadsheet calcs say that this is more effective than the 2 I + 2 WT and 4 I? I’m guessing only for elemental DPS (i.e. not phys DPS)? tysm

    • So yes, but also no? Lemme explain

Yes to it’ll only help increase elemental damage, since the elemental RES shred on enemies will be what’s swirled (i.e.: if someone swirls Cryo, then those enemies hit will have their Cryo RES decreased etc…). Geo, Anemo, and Phys DMG don’t benefit from 4x VV since they can’t swirl with Anemo.

To answer your followup: is Sucrose bad in a Phys DPS comp then? – No. If you have a flex slot in your team, Sucrose can still do a lot of AoE + spread an elemental proc. So in the case of Phys DPS, your Sucrose can swirl Cryo and mass apply it. Not to mention she’s also able to slot TTDS (Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers) for that juicy 48% ATK buff.

      Hope that makes sense!
