The Dirge of Bilqis Quest Guide

The Dirge of Bilqis is a new questline in the Desert of Hadramaveth, and you need to complete the tasks to unlock various underground area and their waypoint.

This is the main quest you need to complete to unlock various underground areas and their waypoints. The quest is relatively easy with simple and repetitive puzzles, but I still made one because it’s my job.

Start the Quest

➥ You can only start this quest after completing the Golden Slumber quest series in the Sumeru desert. If you already completed this one, you can start The Dirge of Bilqis quest by talking to Sumeru Katheryne.

Seven Pillars by Wisdom Sculpted

➥ Teleport to the Statue of the Seven in Tanit Camps (new area) to continue the quest. After that, you need to continue talking with a few NPCs that can easily be found with the quest navigation so I won’t go in depth there. The last character you need to talk to is Jeht.

➥ Help Jeht feed crocodiles in two spots after talking to Yuften at the bottom of the camps. You can find it with the navigation quest icon. You will talk to NPCs too after that but it’s super easy and not worth mentioning here. Talk to Jeht near her tent before venturing to the temple on the outskirts of Gurabad (The adventure begins!).

The Temple Where Sand Flows Like Tears

➥ Continue following the quest until you reach the temple’s gate and meet another NPC called Azariq.
➥ A new mechanism called Rune Mechanism (I will call it Wind mechanism throughout the guide since it’s easier to remember) is introduced here and it’s easy to understand. You only need to hit it to change the direction of the wind. Hit the Wind mechanism 3 times to remove the sand on the switch (Anemo does not work on special sand piles like this). After that, continue following the quest navigation.

First Door

➥ First of all, hit the large Wind mechanism twice to remove the sand pile from the door switch. Then activate the switch to open the door. Keep following the path until you reach a room with a teleport waypoint.

➥ In the room with the teleport waypoint, go to the right side of the room and hit the Wind mechanism twice to remove the sand pile. Select Open on the Runic Pane Switch and hit the Wind mechanism twice again.

➥ Get out of that room and go to the opposite side to hit the Wind mechanism once to remove the sand pile and open the door using the switch. Start the Pipe Valve mechanism in the center room. By now, I’m sure you got the gist of the Wind mechanism so I’ll be skipping some super simple puzzles to open doors using that mechanism.

➥ There are a lot of directions you can go here but you only need to head to the bottom of the room to a pool. Follow the navigation until you reach the main temple you started earlier.

Second Door

➥ After talking to Jeht and Azariq, hit the large Wind mechanism three times to remove the sand pile from the door switch. Inside the newly unlocked room, you will get another simple wind mechanism puzzle. Move the Wind mechanism and hit it three times to unlock the next door. Keep following the path until you reach a room with a teleport waypoint.

➥ In the room with the teleport waypoint, go to the right side of the room and move the Wind mechanism behind before hitting it once to remove the sand pile. Activate the Runic Pane Switch and hit the Wind mechanism twice.

➥ Get out of that room and go to the opposite side to move the Wind mechanism near the door switch. Start the Pipe Valve mechanism in the center room. After entering the newly unlocked room, another simple wind mechanism puzzle; you need to hit the Wind mechanism once before moving it near the door switch.

➥ In the new and large area, you need to head further into the cave until you see two hourglasses. Follow the path until you reach the main temple again.

Third Door

➥ Hit the mechanism three times to remove the sand pile from the door switch. Inside the room with Primal Constructs, go to the left side of the room and move the wind mechanism to unlock the next door.

➥ Inside the new room, hit the first Wind mechanism once > activate the Runic Pane Switch > move the first Wind mechanism > hit it three times. Then:
Hit the second Wind mechanism once and move it.
Hit the third Wind mechanism twice and move it.

➥ Inside the new room, head to the stairs on the left and hit the Wind mechanism twice and activate the switch to make the floor disappear. Start the Pipe Valve mechanism there.

➥ Go up and hit the Wind mechanism near the teleport waypoint twice to remove the sand pile and unlock the last door. Keep following the path until you reach the last Wind mechanism (Hit it twice and move it).

➥ Now that you have explored all three doors, go back to the main temple, hit the last large Wind mechanism once to remove the sand pile, and activate the giant device. There is a Luxurious Chest once you completed this so don’t forget about it.

➥ Follow the quest navigation until you reach the new ruin with a triangle entrance. Keep following the quest navigation until you arrived to Liloufar’s Cell and pick up the Jinn in the bottle. You’re gonna fight some Eremites later when getting out of this ruin so make sure to deploy your team members efficiently.

➥ Investigate three Eremite camps. You need to find them in order and defeat the Eremites surrounding the shining items. Above is the image for all three spots you need to check in order. After that, go back to Tanit’s Camp and talk to Babel.

➥ Following that, you will talk to Jeht and Azariq. At one point, you can even challenge Azariq for a TCG duel (only if you have unlocked TCG). This is a one-time challenge only and if you skip it, you won’t be able to challenge him again. There are no rewards even if you win though.

Dune-Entombed Fecundity: Part 1

➥ Teleport to waypoint in Passage of Ghouls (if you have unlocked it already) and follow the quest navigation until you reach the entrance of Mt Damavand, a cutscene will start when you reach the right place and you need to fight some Fungi. Then, just follow the navigation until you see a new mechanism.

➥ By activating the Sand-pumping mechanism (officially known as Cascade Pools), it will flow down sand to the fountain below and unlock a gate. Head further into the cave for another new mechanism.

➥ This time, the mechanism will connect the tunnels to accumulate sand (officially known as Pipe Divelter Valve). Make sure to activate the Sand-pumping mechanism first before interacting with the Pipe Valve surrounded by Fungi.

➥ Head inside the room and Rotate Cell once to unlock a Common Chest and unseal the second Pipe Valve in front of the Common Chest you need to activate. Continue following the navigation quest until you reach a room and a cutscene.

➥ Inside the new room, go to the farthest point and start the Pipe Valve. Then you can activate the door switch.

➥ Inside the room with Primal Construct, follow the instructions below:
1. Interact with the Plinths of Secret Rites to open the barrier.
2. Interact with the Pipe Valve (Rotate Valve once) to change the sand flow.
3. Start the Pipe Valve near the statue.
4. Rotate Cell once and go to elevator and head down.

➥ Inside the room,
1. Rotate Valve to change the sand flow
2. Rotate Cell #1 once to unlock the door.
3. Next, Rotate Valve again to change the sand flow > Rotate Cell #2 to open another door.
Through that door, keep following the quest navigation until you reach another fragment of Liloupar.

➥ Further inside the ruin, you need to defeat some enemies to unseal the door switch. Remember to get the Exquisite Chest after defeating the Consecrated Scorpion because you will need that item for the next quest! Head to the opened door on your right and follow the quest navigation until you need to activate the mechanism.

➥ When you need to activate the mechanism, there will multiple waves of enemies. You need to defeat them all before they can manage to deplete the Device HP to 0%. After that, keep following the navigation until you reach the next sub-quest.

Dune-Entombed Fecundity: Part 2

➥ Teleport to a waypoint in Dunes of Steel (if you have unlocked it already) and get near the Ruin Golem. Enter the Ruin Golem for the first puzzle.
➥ You need to find 3 Energy Blocks: 1 is just near the entrance, 1 is near the pile of sand on your left, and another 1 is behind boxes on your right.

The first energy block
The second energy block behind the door
The third energy block behind the door

➥ This puzzle is similar to the one you need to do in the first Ruin Golem in the Sumeru rainforest:
Take the 1st Energy Block and go to the room on your right to get the 2nd Energy Block.
Go forward until you see another room with 2 spots to slot in the 2 Energy Blocks you have to get the 3rd one. The image above is a slideshow for all 3 blocks (in case you didn’t realize it).

➥ Once you get all 3 Energy Blocks, approach the elevator and go to the bottom level. Place all 3 Energy Blocks on their respective pillar.
➥ After that, approach the elevator again and go to the highest level and enter the cockpit. For the first 2 times, when you’re controlling the Ruin Golem, you don’t have to aim for anything and just shoot.

➥ Find 2 Energy Blocks and enter them into the pillars (one on each side of the cockpit). Now enter the cockpit again and aim at the shining spot. From there, keep following the quest navigation until you enter the cave.

➥ Inside the new room, follow the Primal Ember to the second floor. Once it stopped at its checkpoint, follow the instructions below:
1. Go to the Wind mechanism and hit it twice to remove the sand pile on the first sand mechanism.
2. Activate the Sand mechanism to flow down the sand.
3. Interact with the now repaired mechanism to lift a wall in front of the fan.
4. Hit the Wind mechanism twice and move it to remove a sand pile on the door switch, then activate the switch to turn off the fan.
Lastly, go get the Primal Ember from its checkpoint to its Primal Torch.

➥ Head to the edge of the room (Right from the Common Chest) to drop down a secret room, get a Remarkable Chest, and a door switch that can be opened.

➥ Head inside the room near Azariq and activate the Pipe Valve. Now you can open the door near Jeht. Keep following the quest navigation until you reach a puzzle to connect the broken pipes.

➥ Inside the room, move the wind mechanism and hit it once to activate the door switch. Upon opening the room, hit the only blue Wind mechanism on the corner three times. Then, hit the next wind mechanism two times before Rotate Valve on the mechanism.
➥ Get to now unsealed room to find a Primal Ember. Follow it until it reaches the Primal Construct and fixes the broken Sand mechanism. After that, keep following the quest navigation until you get another fragment of Liloupar.

➥ The first Primal Ember is right before you enter the room so you won’t miss it. The second Ember is in the room after you take Liloupar’s fragment.

➥ How to solve the second Primal Ember puzzle?
Rotate Cell once and interact with the Primal Ember. After that, quickly Rotate the Cell once more to turn off the fan. After that just keep following both Embers to their Primal Torch and unlock the door.

➥ This area has many places you can go to, but your destination is at the rock bottom of the room. You need to activate another sand mechanism if you’re on the right track.
➥ When you need to activate the mechanism in the middle, there will multiple waves of enemies. You need to defeat them all before they can manage to deplete the Device HP to 0%.

Dune-Entombed Fecundity: Part 3

➥ Once entering the cockpit, for the first time just clicks Enter to move the Ruin Golem. Only after that, you should aim the cannon at the specific shining spot (You need to continue hitting the spot until there is a conversation between Jeht and Azariq that mention the route is now opened).

➥ Fight Azariq the little liar and his subordinates. If you noticed, the Ruin Golem will also change its position on the map. But don’t worry because no Dendroculus or chests will be missing or affected by this quest (I think, hehe). Once you’re out of the Golem, you need to fight some more but with Fatui goons.
➥ Return to the inside of the Ruin Golem and follow the quest navigation until you go deep into the tunnel. As usual, the thing you need to do is to start the sand mechanism and open up some door.

➥ Inside the room with Exquisite Chest in the middle, go to the left room and Rotate Valve on the sand mechanism to unlock the Primal Ember. Follow the Primal Ember till it stopped at its checkpoint. There is also a now repaired mechanism near the checkpoint, so start it to open the door.

➥ Rotate Cell for the Primal Beam on the right side of the room once until it faces Dual-Phase Neverlight Cells. Activate the two mechanisms to open the door and continue following the Primal Ember until you activate the Pipe Valve.

➥ Once you’re out of the room, start the door switch on the opposite of the room to open up a door. Follow the quest navigation to get another Liloupar’s fragment.
➥ When you need to activate the mechanism in the middle, there will multiple waves of enemies. You need to defeat them all before they can manage to deplete the Device HP to 0%. After that, keep following the quest navigation (fight Ferigees and other enemies) until you reach the Orchard of Pairidaeza and complete the Dirge of Bilqis questline.

➥ There is a Luxurious Chest and hidden achievement here, but I will include that in another guide because this post is getting too long for my liking. Don’t worry, you can come to this location anytime.
