Arataki Itto Character Guide

An in-depth analysis of Arataki Itto with his best builds. Includes artifacts, weapons and team recommendations.

Fast as the wind and mighty as thunder, he is an intrepid man with Oni blood running through his veins.

Name: Arataki Itto
Rarity: ★★★★★
Vision: Geo
Weapon: Claymore

Birthday: 1st June
Region: Inazuma
Affiliation: Arataki Gang

Normal Attack: Perform up to 4 consecutive strikes. When the 2nd and 4th strikes hit opponents, Itto will gain 1 or 2 stacks of Superlative Superstrength, respectively. Max 5 stacks. Triggering this effect will refresh the current duration of any existing stacks.

Statistics:

Charged Attack: When holding to perform a Charged Attack, Itto unleashes a series of Arataki Kesagiri slashes without consuming Stamina. Instead, each Arataki Kesagiri slash consumes 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength. When the final stack is consumed, Itto delivers a powerful final slash. If no stacks of Superlative Superstrength are available, Itto will perform a single Saichimonji Slash.

Statistics:

Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Statistics:

Hurls Ushi, the young akaushi bull and auxiliary member of the Arataki Gang, dealing Geo DMG to opponents on hit. When Ushi hits opponents, Arataki Itto gains 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength. Ushi will remain on the field and provide support in the following ways:

  • Taunts surrounding opponents and draws their attacks.
  • Inherits HP based on a percentage of Arataki Itto’s Max HP.
  • When Ushi takes DMG, Arataki Itto gains 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength. Only 1 stack can be gained in this way every 2s.
  • Ushi will flee when its HP reaches 0 or its duration ends. It will grant Arataki Itto 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength when it leaves.

Statistics:

Time to show ’em the might of the Arataki Gang! For a time, Itto lets out his inner Raging Oni King, wielding his Oni King’s Kanabou in battle. This state has the following special properties:

  • Converts Itto’s Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks to Geo DMG. This cannot be overridden.
  • Increases Itto’s Normal Attack SPD. Also increases his ATK based on his DEF.
  • On hit, the 1st and 3rd strikes of his attack combo will each grant Arataki Itto 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength.
  • Decreases Itto’s Elemental and Physical RES by 20%.

Suggested Talent Levels
This is by no means an exact guide on what is best – this is just my personal suggestion.

When Arataki Itto uses consecutive Arataki Kesagiri, he obtains the following effects:

  • Each slash increases the ATK SPD of the next slash by 10%. Max ATK SPD increase is 30%.
  • Increases his resistance to interruption.

Arataki Kesagiri DMG is increased by 35% of Arataki Itto’s DEF.

When a party member uses attacks to obtain wood from a tree, they have a 25% chance to get an additional log of wood.

Taurus Iracundus
C1 < C2 < C6

C1 allows Itto to instantly gain 2 stacks of Superlative Superstrength immediately after using his Elemental Burst.

C2 is Itto’s best constellation and is definitely worth pulling for. Unless you want to C6 him, this is also the place to stop. This constellation assists with Itto’s Energy Recharge issue by allowing him to quickly recharge with any battery on his team. It also drastically decreases his Elemental Burst’s cooldown time, therefore allowing him to be on the field more often.

This increases the level to which Itto’s Elemental Skill can be increased.

C4 allows Itto to buff his teammates which is not really a part of his build. This constellation is not overly useful and is not worth pulling for unless you are aiming to C6 him.

This increases the level to which Itto’s Elemental Burst can be increased.

C6 gives Itto a large damage boost by increasing his CRIT DMG and upping his chances of not consuming his stacks of Superlative Superstrength.

2-Piece: DEF +30%.

4-Piece: A character equipped with this artifact set will obtain the Curiosity effect in the following conditions: When on the field, the character gains 1 stack after hitting an opponent with a Geo attack, triggering a maximum of once every 0.3s. When off the field, the character gains 1 stack every 3s. Curiosity can stack up to 4 times, each providing 6% DEF and a 6% Geo DMG Bonus. When 6 seconds pass without gaining a Curiosity stack, 1 stack is lost.

Husk of Opulent Dreams increases Itto’s DEF and buffs his Geo DMG. It is undoubtedly his best artifact set with very little other competition coming close to being as good.

2-Piece: Increases Shield Strength by 35%.

4-Piece: While protected by a shield, gain an additional 40% Normal and Charged Attack DMG.

Retracing Bolide is an alternative set that can be used for Itto. While he does not benefit from its 2-piece bonus, the 4-piece bonus of increasing his Normal and Charged Attack DMG is useful. This is not a set to specifically farm for Itto, it is only shown here as a potential alternative.

2-Piece: Geo DMG Bonus +15%.

4-Piece: Upon obtaining an Elemental Shard created through a Crystallize Reaction, all party members gain 35% DMG Bonus for that particular element for 10s. Only one form of Elemental DMG Bonus can be gained in this manner at any one time.

Archaic Petra is a very niche set. It should really only be used early in the game if you have not yet unlocked the Inazuma domain for Husk of Opulent Dreams. It is best used as a 2-piece set combination with a different artifact set to get the Geo DMG Bonus.

Itto’s signature weapon is Redhorn Stonethresher. Its high CRIT DMG and useful passive ability are perfect for Itto. The passive is very straightforward – it increases his DEF as well as his Normal and Chargefd Attack DMG. The secondary CRIT DMG stat perfectly levels out Itto’s ascension stat of CRIT Rate.

Beacon of the Reed Sea has a high CRIT Rate secondary stat. It is the second best 5-star weapon for Itto, however it is not as good as Serpent Spine, the best 4-star weapon. If you happen to have this weapon and want to equip a 5-star claymore its stats are quite reasonable for Itto.

Serpent Spine is the best 4-star weapon for Itto, though it is a paid weapon through the Battle Pass. As Itto is an on-field damage dealer he can take advantage of this passive ability by staying on-field for extended periods of time. As a Geo character he will also create elemental shields that will protect him from taking damage, further benefiting the passive.

Whiteblind is the F2P weapon option as it is a free craftable weapon available from early in the game. Its stats focus on DEF which is an important attribute for Itto. Its passive ability also increases ATK and DEF based on Normal and Charged Attack hits. Though this is not a brilliant weapon, it is the best F2P option for low spenders or beginner players.
