Kaveh Quick Character Guide

Kaveh is a 4-Star Dendro DPS who benefits greatly from a Bloom Team. Here is a quick build guide for those who want include this beautiful man into the team.

Kaveh is a Dendro melee character who can detonate Dendro Cores and heal himself with his skills. His Elemental Skill can deal AoE Dendro DMG and will cause all Dendro Cores within that area to burst immediately. After his Talent, “An Architect’s Undertaking,” is unlocked, when attacks from Dendro Cores hit Kaveh, he will also recover HP based on his Elemental Mastery.

Kaveh’s Elemental Burst will allow his Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks to temporarily be converted to Dendro DMG, and increases their attack AoE. During this time, all Dendro Cores created by your own party members through Bloom reactions will deal additional DMG when they burst.

This guide is based on the Community Character Builds by the Genshin Helper Team.

Skills Overview

Normal Attack: Schematic Setup

Normal Attack: Uses Mehrak to perform up to 4 consecutive attacks.

Kaveh’s best combo is N3D, which is 3 Normal Attacks canceled at the end with a Dash.

Charged Attack: Drains Stamina over time to perform continuous slashes.
At the end of the sequence, performs a more powerful slash.

Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Elemental Skill: Artistic Ingenuity

Uses Mehrak’s mapping ability for offensive purposes, initiating a radial scan that deals AoE Dendro DMG. It will also scan all Dendro Cores in its AoE and cause them to immediately burst.

Upon hitting at least one enemy, it will generate 2 Elemental Particles, and it has a six-second cooldown.

  • Cooldown 6s

Elemental Burst: Painted Dome

Completely unleashes Mehrak’s energy and creates a cubic scanned space, dealing AoE Dendro DMG to all opponents within it, causing all Dendro Cores in its AoE to immediately burst, and granting Kaveh the following enhanced combat abilities for a specific duration:

  • Increases Kaveh’s Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack AoE, and converts his attack DMG to Dendro DMG that cannot be overridden.
  • All Dendro Cores created by all your own party members through Bloom reactions will deal additional DMG when they burst.
  • Increases Kaveh’s resistance to interruption

These effects will be canceled once Kaveh leaves the field. The Burst’s entire duration is 12 seconds, with a 20-second cooldown, costing 80 energy.

  • Duration 12s
  • Cooldown 20s
  • Energy Cost 80

Ascension 1: An Architect’s Undertaking

When DMG dealt by a Dendro Core (including DMG from Burgeon and Hyperbloom) hits Kaveh, Kaveh will regain HP equal to 300% of his Elemental Mastery. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s.

This skill improves his survivability, especially if you run Kaveh as the main DPS in your team. Remember that only he is going to be healed, not your party.

Ascension 4: A Craftsman’s Curious Conceptions

During Painted Dome, after Kaveh’s Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks hit opponents, his Elemental Mastery will increase by 25. This effect can be triggered once every 0.1s. Max 4 stacks.
This effect will be canceled when Painted Dome’s effects end.

Passive Talent: The Art of Budgeting

When Kaveh crafts Landscape, Building, and Courtyard-type Furnishings, he has a 100% chance to refund a portion of the materials used.

Talent Priorities

Burst > Normal Attack > Skill
Even though the attack scaling from his Normal Attack is somewhat low, you still need to prioritize his NA since it synergizes with his Elemental Burst.

Recommended Weapons

  1. Favonius Greatsword (4☆)
  2. Sacrificial Greatsword (4☆)
  3. Mailed Flower R5
  4. Wolf’s Gravestone (5☆)
~= Song of Broken Pines (5☆)
  5. Makhaira Aquamarine (4☆)
    ~= Katsuragikiri Nagamasa (4☆)
  6. Skyward Pride (5☆)
    ~= Forest Regalia (4☆)
    ~= Rainslasher (4☆)

1) Favonius Greatsword (ATK 454 • ER 61.3%)

CRIT hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s.

Best-in-slot 4-Star weapon since Kaveh needs a lot of energy. With the passive skill that produces particles, you can ensure a consistent uptime of Kaveh’s Elemental Burst in most rotations.

2) Sacrificial Greatsword (ATK 565 • ER 30.6%)

After dealing damage to an opponent with an Elemental Skill, the skill has a 40% chance to end its own CD. Can only occur once every 30s.

3) Mailed Flower (ATK 565 • EM 110)

Within 8s after the character’s Elemental Skill hits an opponent or the character triggers an Elemental Reaction, their ATK and Elemental Mastery will be increased by 12% and 48 respectively.

Provide Kaveh with additional ATK% and Elemental Mastery that can be used on various team compositions.

4) Wolf’s Gravestone (ATK 608 • ATK 49.6%)

Increases ATK by 20%. On hit, attacks against opponents with less than 30% HP increase all party members’ ATK by 40% for 12s. Can only occur once every 30s.

In teams where the teamwide ATK% from the passive is not significant for team damage, it is advised not to use these weapons.

5) Makhaira Aquamarine (ATK 510 • EM 165)

The following effect will trigger every 10s: The equipping character will gain 24% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK for 12s, with nearby party members gaining 30% of this buff for the same duration. Multiple instances of this weapon can allow this buff to stack. This effect will still trigger even if the character is not on the field.

Alternative weapon for Mailed Flower.

6) Skyward Pride (ATK 674 • ER 36.8%)

Increases all DMG by 8%. After using an Elemental Burst, Normal or Charged Attack, on hit, creates a vacuum blade that does 80% of ATK as DMG to opponents along its path. Lasts for 20s or 8 vacuum blades.

Energy Recharge stat-stick that can be used if you have a hard time meeting his Energy Recharge requirement.

Recommended Artifacts

  1. Deepwood Memories (4)
  2. Ocean-Hued Clam (4)
  3. Flower of Paradise Lost (4)
  4. Instructors (4)
  5. Gilded Dreams (4)

1) Deepwood Memories

2-Piece: Dendro DMG Bonus +15%.
4-Piece: After Elemental Skills or Bursts hit opponents, the targets’ Dendro RES will be decreased by 30% for 8s. This effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field.

Do not use this set on Kaveh if another character is already using it.

2) Ocean-Hued Clam

2-Piece: Healing Bonus +15%.
4-Piece: When the character equipping this artifact set heals a character in the party, a Sea-Dyed Foam will appear for 3 seconds, accumulating the amount of HP recovered from healing (including overflow healing). At the end of the duration, the Sea-Dyed Foam will explode, dealing DMG to nearby opponents based on 90% of the accumulated healing.

This set has the potential to outclass Deepwood Memories (4) as long as another user can hold Deepwood Memories. It gets notably better at C1.

3) Flower of Paradise Lost

2-Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.
4-Piece: The equipping character’s Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon reaction DMG are increased by 40%. Additionally, after the equipping character triggers Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon, they will gain another 25% bonus to the effect mentioned prior. Each stack of this lasts 10s. Max 4 stacks simultaneously. This effect can only be triggered once per second. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects when not on the field.

This set can be better than Ocean Hued Clam (4) if Kaveh triggers the majority of Blooms in your team.

4) Instructors

2-Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.
4-Piece: Upon triggering an Elemental Reaction, increases all party members’ Elemental Mastery by 120 for 8s.

5) Gilded Dreams

2-Piece: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.
4-Piece: Within 8s of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character equipping this will obtain buffs based on the Elemental Type of the other party members. ATK is increased by 14% for each party member whose Elemental Type is the same as the equipping character, and Elemental Mastery is increased by 50 for every party member with a different Elemental Type. Each of the aforementioned buffs will count up to 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8s. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects when not on the field.

Team Compositions

Bloom Team

Kaveh’s NA after activating his Elemental Burst can trigger the sword rain attacks of Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst. This is Kaveh’s main method of creating Dendro Cores, while Nilou and Nahida are off-field support characters.

Both Nilou and Kaveh have skills that will increase the damage of Dendro Core’s explosion, which is a fairly high DPS. However, the team’s survival power is relatively poor, so you can replace Nahida with Baizhu or Yaoyao to increase the team’s survival chance.

Meanwhile, for Hydro characters, Xingqiu can be replaced with Yelan if you have her. Kokomi is also a choice, which can increase your team’s survival, but the ability to apply Hydro will be weakened a lot. For those without Nilou, it is recommended to use a character that can efficiently apply Hydro off-field to pair with Kaveh.

Hyperbloom Team

This team is almost similar to the previous team but with the addition of an Electro character. Nahida is still responsible for off-field assistance and supplementing Dendro DMG. Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst is responsible for applying Hydro, and together with Nahida and Kaveh, creates the Dendro Cores.

While the Electro characters use Elemental Skills and Elemental Bursts to trigger Elemental Reaction and cause Hyperbloom. The best would be Kuki Shinobu as her Elemental Skill can inflict consistent Electro damage and also heal the active characters. Kaveh is still responsible for providing the Blossom Reaction DMG boost, as well as for on-field DMG output and creating the Dendro Core.

Constellations

Best Constellations: C1, C4 & C6

C1 (Good)
• Within 3s after using Artistic Ingenuity, Kaveh’s Dendro RES and Incoming Healing Bonus will be increased by 50% and 25% respectively.
• This is a survivability boost for him because of the high incoming healing bonus. Additionally, this is a great constellation if you plan to put Ocean-Hued Clam set on him, improving his damage output when its bubble bursts.

C2
• Kaveh’s Normal Attack SPD increases by 15% during Painted Dome.

C3
• Increases the Level of Painted Dome (Elemental Burst) by 3.

C4 (Great!)
• Dendro Cores created from Bloom reactions Kaveh triggers will deal 60% more DMG when they burst.

C5
Increases the Level of Artistic Ingenuity (Elemental Skill) by 3.

C6 (Awesome!)
• When Kaveh’s Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks hit opponents during Painted Dome, they will unleash Pairidaeza’s Light upon the opponent’s position, dealing 61.8% of Kaveh’s ATK as AoE Dendro DMG and causing all Dendro Cores within that AoE to burst. This effect can be triggered once every 3s.
• This is an essential constellation if you don’t plan to use Kaveh in Bloom team composition since it allows him to have more frequent, consistent Dendro Core explosions during combat. This constellation makes him a great way to play outside Bloom’s team composition.
