Search in the Algae Sea Quest Guide

This quest chain is the last and the closing part of the whole Narzissenkreuz Ordo questline. You’re going to uncover the truth behind the identity of Mary-Ann and the history of Narzissenkreuz Ordo (not me skipping everything). There will be lots of teleporting in this quest so I hope most of your teleport waypoint is already unlocked.

Search in the Algae Sea

The last quest involves Caterpillar, Ann, and Seymour. If you just completed the previous quest (Unfinished Comedy), change your in-game time to 2 days later so you can start this quest immediately. In this guide, I will assume you already unlocked all teleport waypoints in the new area of 4.2.

➥ There are a lot of brainstorming games here and these are the answers for the first one:

  1. Interpret all options as far as it lets you
  2. Associate [The Oceanid Ann…] and [There are Oceanids in Annapausis…]
  3. Interpret [Is Not Ann.]
  4. Associate [The “Mary-Ann” in Annapausis…] and [There are Oceanids in Annapausis…]
  5. Interpret [The enigmatic “Mary-Ann”…]
  6. Submit Conclusion  [The enigmatic “Mary-Ann”…]

➥ Go to Annapausis and just follow the quest navigation to get another brainstorm game:

  1. Interpret all options as far as it lets you
  2. Associate [Director Lyris’s memories] and [The “Red Empress” Lyris]
  3. Interpret [“Mary-Ann” is Lyris]
  4. Associate [Mary-Ann Guillotin’s memories] and [Mary-Ann Guillotin]
  5. Interpret [“Mary-Ann” is that younger sister]
  6. Associate [“Mary-Ann” is that younger sister] and [“Mary-Ann” is Lyris]
  7. Interpret [The identities are contradictory] and [Lyris’s abilities]
  8. Associate [Lyris’s abilities] and [The “Red Empress” Lyris]
  9. Interpret [Dissolving the personality and will]
  10. Interpret and Submit Conclusion [Lyris and Ann…]

➥ Follow the quest navigation until you partially complete this sub-quest to trigger the next sub-quest which is finally full of puzzles.

Muse’s Mother

➥ Follow the quest navigation to Morte Region’s S7 and enter the underground area there (There’s Hilichurls near the entrance).

➥ Use the Octopus’ ability to open and slip through the gate until you reach the navigated area (I’m gonna call this the main room). On the second floor of this main room is a platform with a glowing purple painting inside it (this painting is for another quest).

➥ OK so face the energy flow mechanism in the main room, and look past it to in front of you (north). Interact with this pillar here.

➥ Then go to the east of the room to find a puzzle. For this puzzle, use the Octopus’ ability to interact with the crystal receiver nodes to raise the blue orbs (called Eliphas Beam) until it reach the top. Then, immediately attack the crystal to activate the dispatch switch so the Eliphas Beam will fall at the right spot and won’t reach the bottom.

➥ Interact with the energy flow pillar inside the now unlocked gate and go downstairs. Use the Octopus’ ability on the crystal receiver nodes, slip through the gate, interact with the energy flow inside, and go back upstairs using the same lift that you use to go down (this will occur a lot, where you need to go up and down using the energy flow/lift so get used to this).

Choose Go Up > Then Release

➥ Once you’re upstairs, interact with the energy flow/lift you just used before interacting with the main mechanism in the main room to complete the Orthant’s puzzle.

Meteoric Lance

➥ You will get this sub-quest after completing the Muse’s Mother. At the navigated area, defeat the 1 Meka first and use the Octopus’ ability on the Eliphas Beam and rotate it in the direction of the columns.

➥ Use the ability on the 2 columns so they will raise and get hit by the beam. There’s a glowing purple painting here (this painting is for another quest).

➥ Take the lift down and defeat the Meka first before you can use the crystal to open the gate before you slip through it. Time for another Orthant’s puzzle.

➥ For the puzzle at the east in the main room, use the Octopus’ ability on the 2 columns to lower them. Lower the one on the left first (because it’s slow) before lowering the one on the right.

➥ Go into the now unlocked gate and interact with the energy flow pillar to go downstairs. Defeat the Slimes there because they’re a nuisance in completing this puzzle. There’s a glowing purple painting here (this painting is for another quest).

➥ For this puzzle, just use your Octopus’ ability on the crystal receiver nodes to adjust the valve direction so the water will flow in the right direction. Tap Release on the energy flow mechanism and follow the water towards another flow mechanism and use that one to go upstairs.

➥ Don’t forget to Release the water once again when you’re upstairs.

➥ Unlock the gate in front of the Seelie and follow it to its garden below so it can unlock the underwater area.

➥ Enter the water, and defeat the Meka first using the Hunter’s Ray to unlock the wall that confines Ball Octopus. Then, use the Octopus’ ability to align the valves again.

➥ Release the water by interacting with the flow energy pillar, and take the Hunter’s Ray ability again to cut the Seagrass (all of them at the same time).

➥ Enter the now unlocked area and interact with the energy flow pillar there to go upstairs (twice), and interact with the pillar/lift one last time to transfer the water to the main pillar.

Cupid’s Lover

➥ Teleport to the underwater waypoint of East Slopes of Mont Automnequi and enter the ruin there.

➥ Ignore the cannon and use the Octopus’ ability on the crystal receiver nodes (mechanism on the left) to adjust the valve direction so the water will flow to the right direction (can be seen by the light blue color on the valve). Don’t forget to tap Release.

➥ For the mechanism on the right, just interact with it because the valve direction is already correct. After that, the gate will be unlocked and you can enter the ruin.

➥ Once you’re in the ruin, Release the first energy flow mechanism you see in the middle (there’s a locked door in front of this but ignore that one because the key is further inside this ruin). For now, head to the quest navigation circle (main room).

➥ There are 2 routes you can go here, south or east. First of all, head east past a glowing purple painting (this painting is for another quest) and interact with the energy mechanism to go upstairs.

➥ At that upstairs, get the Hydroculus and the glowing item below it, that’s the key for the previously locked door). After that, interact with the energy flow mechanism there before you go downstairs again. As usual, don’t forget to Release the water to the main energy pillar.

➥ Now go to the south and interact with the mechanism there to go downstairs.

➥ Swim through to the gate (open via crystal), use the Jellyfish’s ability to open the last gate, and interact with the energy flow mechanism. The water in that room will disappear and you can walk back to the lift you used and go to the main room again.

Release. Don’t forget to Release.

➥ When you’re upstairs again, don’t forget to interact with the mechanism/lift you just used to flow the water to the main mechanism in the middle.

➥ Remember that key from before that you got under Hydroculus, use that item on the locked door near the entrance of this ruin.

➥ Bring the energy flow mechanism downwards and interact with it again to completely solve Orchant’s puzzle here.

Thalia and Melpomene

➥ You will get this sub-quest after completing the Cupid’s Lover sub-quest. Follow the navigation to reach the underwater ruin south of the Tower of Gestalt. There’s a glowing purple painting here (this painting is for another quest).

➥ Once you touch the first energy flow pillar, go deeper in the ruin to interact with the second pillar (the valve is already in the correct direction so no need to fix it).

Choose Go Up first > Release

➥ Take the third energy flow pillar/lift to go upstairs, and Release the water to the main energy flow pillar in the main room.

➥ In the main room (full of water), swim downwards below the main pillar and go past a room full of Mekas to an area with another valve puzzle.

➥ Absorb the ability of the Crab there and bust down all 3 breakable rocks down here to (1) free the Ball Octopus, (2) get the crystals for the crystal receiver nodes, (3) reach the energy flow pillar. Remember, there are 3 of them, use Elemental Sights if you can’t spot any one of them.

➥ Do the usual thing where you adjust the valve using the crystal receiver nodes you just pick up from under the breakable rocks, interact with the energy flow pillar, follow the water to reach another energy flow pillar, and activate it.

You can use that mechanism to open the gate

➥ Proceed to the next room where the water is flowing to (you can open the gate using the mechanism beside it), defeat the Meka there to unlock the gate, and take the lift up (There’s a key on the shelf in this room, but it is only used to unlock a shortcut, not a hidden room).

➥ Once you reach upstairs, interact with the energy flow pillar/lift one last time to complete the Orthant’s puzzle. You will be sent to the Tower of Gestalt.

Search in the Algae Sea 2

➥ When you enter the tower, you will reach the Narzissenkreuz Ordo instead to meet Jakob. After defeating him, you will gain a hidden achievement ‘One Involved in the Matter.’

Savior’s Wake

First Puzzle

➥ For the first puzzle, align the Eliphas Beam so it will match the receivers by the wall (look up). You can exit the tower to reach the lower level.

➥ For the bubble thingie in the middle, it’s for a treasure chest but it’s not involved in the quest so I won’t go in-depth here. To solve it, there should be a bubble teleport that can transport you upwards, use it after getting the Octopus’ ability. It brings you to another bubble on top of the gear, use the Octopus’ ability to push it down to the other bubble and combine them in the middle. Then pop the big bubble.

➥ Back to the quest! Jump down further from that bubble puzzle and glide slowly to the level below. Enter it and solve another puzzle.

Second Puzzle

➥ Defeat the Meka here first, then interact with the mechanism in the middle. Go through the door and go down with the lift.

Third Puzzle

➥ Defeat the Meka here to unlock the mechanism on the side and activate it (used to lower the ceiling).

Move the bottom beam to the door on the right

➥ Use the Octopus’ ability on the crystal receiver node in the middle of the floor and move the bottom beam to the single receiver door on the right first. Dog mekas will come out from that door and you need to defeat them. There is a mechanism inside that room but DON’T TOUCH IT YET.

Move the bottom beam to the door on the left

➥ Instead, use the crystal receiver node to move the bottom beam to the door on the left. ONLY AFTER THAT should you activate the mechanism inside the first room that just opened before. You will get a notification on how the gear below has been disconnected (so it won’t move again).

Move the top beam to the door on the left

➥ Now, you can interact with the receiver node again to move the top beam only (since the gear below the bottom beam has been disconnected) to the door on the left.

Fourth Puzzle

➥ In this room, just defeat the Meka, activate the mechanism in the middle, and take the next lift to go even downwards.

Fifth Puzzle

Two beams for the first door

➥ Once you reach downward, there are 3 doors with 3 beams. Please read carefully, and if you think something is wrong, relog the game to reset the beams. First, operate the receiver node mechanism and line the double beam to open the first door and get the Root Cycle inside + interact with the switch inside (Just a reminder, you’re gonna use this switch again later so remember that this is the switch in the FIRST DOOR).

One beam to the second door

➥ Use the receiver node mechanism again and line the single beam to the door opposite the previous door. Open the door and get the key inside + interact with the switch inside. (You’re gonna use this switch again later so remember that this is the switch in the SECOND DOOR).

➥ Use the receiver node again to line the bottom beam to the last door. Then, go to the FIRST DOOR and interact with the switch inside again so the bottom beam will be disconnected (and also lowered a bit).

➥ Now that the bottom beam won’t move anymore, use the mechanism for the last time and move the top beam to the last door. Lastly, go back to the SECOND DOOR and activate the switch inside it to make the lowered bottom beam upwards again and complete the whole puzzle.

➥ Talk to everyone in the room before going to the lowest area. After this sub-quest, the Tower of Gestalt will be submerged (and even affect the map).

Waking From the Great Dream

➥ Once you enter the water current and meet Narzissenkreuz, you will enter a battle with him. In the first phase, you need to hold out until a water current appears (just avoid his attacks). There are blue orbs in the arena when you’re fighting the boss, and you can pick them up to heal your Traveler.

➥ Once you enter the water current, avoid the rift that will appear randomly. Then, just spam Charge Attacks (when the sword is glowing and the game is giving reminder) to the boss once you’re back there.

Rowboat’s Wake

➥ Finally, the last sub-quest. When you reach Annapausis, just take shelter from the barricades created by Ann from the water beam. After that, there are no more puzzles and just dialogue heavy so you can enjoy from here until you complete the quest~
